Charlotte Tilbury ist quasi Schuld, dass auch wir beim Blick in den Badezimmerspiegel unseren ‚Followern‘ jeden einzelnen Schritt unserer Beautyroutine erklären. Wo wir grad schon bei Fenty sind, die Produktnamen der Linie sind der ungewöhnlich und anders cool! Das beste Beispiel: ein Lippenstift der PMS heißt. Mit einem ernsthaften Mangel an Afro-Haar-Produkten auf dem Markt um 1990 nahm Madam C.J. Walker die Sache selbst in die Hand. Der Verlust ihrer eigenen Haare trieb sie an Produkte zu entwickeln, die sie selbst vergeblich gesucht hatte. Endlich bekamen schwarze Amerikanerinnen Produkte die ausdrücklich für sie und ihre Bedürfnisse hergestellt wurden. Walker baute ihr Business nicht nur von Grund auf, sondern tat dies währen sie gegen Rassismus und Sexismus kämpfte, und bekam Amerika’s erste weibliche Selfmade-Millionärin.
